is this viral lipstick worth the hype?

The latest TikTok viral product and about the 10th i’ve felt compelled to try for myself.
Ok, I realize that most of you have probably already seen a review of this lipstick. I've seen it about ten time on TikTok, but those reviews did make me buy it, so I thought I would give it a try and do my own review. It is the Tarte Maracuja Lip Plumping Lipstick.
The first thing I noticed as I put it on is how soft. silky, and smooth it is. But I didn't feel any tingling like you do with other lip plumpers, at least not right away. I also wasn't able to get my first choice in color, it was sold out, so I got a berry mauve shade. Very pretty, but i'm really into red right now. I will say, about 30 seconds after I put it on, my lips did start to feel cool, kind of like that feeling you get after eating a Peppermint Patty, but I never saw, or felt, my lips get any bigger.

And, just to clarify a bit, I wasn't looking for a lot of plumping, I don't have a problem with the size of my lips, or at least not my original lip size, they have kind of sunken in since I turned 50. So it isn't about getting that really blown up look, it's about filling in the wrinkles around our mouth. When you get a really good makeup product that plumps your lips, you can strategically put it around the perimeter of your lips and it will fill in those pesky wrinkles.
Aside from the issues with color, although, I must say, it is a pretty lip color, just not what i'm currently leaning toward, it wasn't as glossy as I had seen it look on other people. That being said, there are two versions of the lipstick, the lip plumper and a lip gloss, so, to be fair, I may have been seeing people with the lip gloss version. While it is pretty, and very nice to apply, I have so much makeup, I will probably just end up holding on to these, saving them for later and keep using some of the other plumpers and lipsticks I already have. There was nothing wrong with this one, it's very pretty, very subtle. I just wasn't feeling it.
